There is an increasing gap in the employability of the management graduates. With AICTE 2016-17 data showing more than half (53%) MBA graduates could not land jobs in campus placements, the questions that arise are, ‘What is the root of this issue? Is it the subject knowledge, or, skill set, or attitude?’
According to Dr. Pritam Singh, CEO – Lead Center & Ex-Director, IIM Lucknow, MDI, IMI, the weakness of management education in India is the poor quality of curriculum and lack of intellectual capital, resulting in mediocre output that lacks desired competencies.
Further, Mr. Dwarakanath, Chairman, GSK Horlicks, feels that this output of B-Schools today is as good as an untrained professional or an undergraduate given the lack of context & knowledge that he/she has on what is latest and futuristic in Industry he/she interviews for.
While the education faternity finds itself grappling with the need to meet industry expectations, Cinque Education Pvt. Ltd. and Career2NextOrbit decided to address this issue by bringing the 3rd edition of Industry Academia Conference. At IAC 2019 notable names from both Industry and Academia will gather together to discuss the ‘Competencies desired by the Industry in young MBA professionals’ which will help in bridging the employability gap.
The discussion will be held in three sessions where both Industry and Academia will reflect upon and share their views on the sub-themes –
This discussion will be a grand culmination of our work and delibrations held at various round table conferences at different locations on the same theme, i.e., “BUILDING LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES FOR TOMORROW” –
This set of awards will be decided by the Jury members on the basis of Research Work submitted by Cinque team.
We are really honoured to have Mr. Dwarkanath P as the Chairman of the Jury, who along with the eminent panel of jury will decide the deserving winners.
