TISS ANNOUNCES Admission to the 2019-21 batch

TISS NATIONAL ENTRANCE TEST (TISS-NET)

Tata Institute of Social Service announces Admission to the 2019-21 batch for it's Full-Time (Regular) Post-Graduate Degree Programmes (M.A., M. Sc., M.H.A., M.P.H.) offered from Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad campuses and other locations.  All campuses have unified campus placement policy and placement process.

General Eligibility: ( Applicable to all programmes except School of Health System Studies programmes)

Candidates having a bachelor's degree with minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent ( under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education)  from a recognized university are eligible to apply

General Instructions about applying:

  1. Candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes across any two of the TISS Campuses and other Centre locations. They are advised to make their choice of programmes carefully after reading the programme descriptions. Change of programmes will not be allowed once admission is completed.
  2. Candidates are requested to carefully read through the eligibility criteria mentioned here before filling up the form.
  3. The application fee for each study programme is Rs.1030 (if being payed by Credit card/ Debit card/ Net Banking) or Rs.1000 + bank charges (if being payed through bank by cash). Candidates are required to pay this amount for every programme she/he applies for. For SC/ST/OBC(NC) candidates, the application fee is Rs. 250/- per programme + bank charges. 
  4. A candidate can apply for multiple programmes and pay for each of those programmes in ONE online form. Candidates SHOULD NOT fill more than one form. If a candidate is found to have filled more than one online form, all her/his applications will be cancelled.
  5. Candidates have to upload / attach relevant certificates strictly in the format mentioned. Please refer to the website for ‘Certificates / Documents to be uploaded'. The Institute also takes steps to have the Caste/Tribe/Non-creamy layer/ Income certificates verified by the competent authorities post-admission and those found to have submitted manipulated certificates at any stage of their study, will be asked to leave the programme.

Selection Procedure

The selection of candidates for different programmes happens in two stages and has three components of assessment. All candidates appear for the National entrance test (TISSNET). Based on the performance in the TISSNET examination, only short listed candidates are called for the Pre Interview Test and Personal Interview.(PIT/PI)

The weightage for NET, PIT and PI is as follows for the for the preparation of final merit lists for General as well as for Reserved Category candidates. NET – 40% ; PIT – 30% ; PI – 30%.

The merit list will be prepared on the basis of merit and the preferences indicated by the candidates at the time of filling up the online application form (Kindly Indicate your preferences carefully as it has implications for the merit list) 

National Entrance Test (TISS-NET)  is computer based. It will be held on January 13, 2019 from 2 pm to 3.40 pm in 39 Cities (below mentioned) in different parts of the country.
