CAT 2018 to be held on 25th November, 2018

The application for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018 for admission to IIMs and other top MBA institutions will begin from August 8 and continue till September 19, 2018The reputed MBA entrance exam is to be held on Sunday, November 25, 2018, in two slots. As shared earlier, IIM Calcutta will be conducting exam this year.

The application fee is Rs. 950 for SC, ST and PwD category candidates and Rs. 1900 for all other categories of candidates,. The following table conatins all the important dates corresponding to CAT 2018 events per the notification.

Exam Pattern

There is not any major change in the CAT 2018 in the exam pattern, which is kept same as that of last year. Candidates will be given exactly 60 minutes to complete each section and they will not be allowed to jump from one section to another. The convenor added, “Some questions in each section may not be of multiple-choice type. Instead, direct answers will have to be typed on the screen. The tutorials will clearly explain this. Also, we will allow use of basic on- screen calculator for computation.”

CAT 2018 Application Process

The application process will start in the first week of August. The registration and application process will be completely online. Candidates have to register using their email address and mobile number. After completing the registration process, the candidates will receive the credentials. Using these credentials, they have to re-login and fill up the form with requisite personal, educational, professional details and upload photograph, signature and documents. They also have to enter four preferred test cities and select IIMs and programmes they want to apply for. The last step is to payment for the application fee using any of the payment modes, including Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking or Mobile Wallets.

CAT 2018 is to be conducted across 147 cities in India.

B-schools accepting CAT scores

Bsides 20 IIMs, 100+ B-schools across India will accept CAT scores for admission to their MBA programmes. Some of the top non-IIM CAT score accepting institutes are Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) - Delhi, DMS-IITs, SPJIMR, MDI - Gurgaon to name a few.
