IIM Rohtak would conduct the Common Admission Process (CAP) for admission into the new IIMs for the batch of 2017-19. With the CAT 2016 results declared on the official website, the shortlisted candidates would be required to appear for personal interview (PI) and written analysis (WA) for admission into IIM Rohtak, Ranchi, Raipur, Trichy, Kashipur, Udaipur, Amritsar, Bodh Gaya and Sambalpur. The benefit of CAP is that the organising institute will conduct interviews for all IIMs and colate the scores and send them to the 9 IIMs. CAT candidates no longer have to appear for separate interviews in different IIMs. Once the scores have been sent by IIM Rohtak, each of the new IIMs will create shortlist of candidates and send them to IIM Rohtak, which will then publish a combined list on their website. CAT is mandatory for entry into over 100 management institutes across the country, including the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management as also top business schools such as SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Faculty of Management Studies, Management Development Institute, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and others. The institutes use the scores with parameters like academic performance, work experience, written assessment, group discussion and interview performance, for final selections.
